Tailor-made travel starts with a blank sheet of paper and a conversation with one of our experts, and finishes with a holiday that’s been designed specifically for you. Nothing is set, nothing is off-the-peg, or off limits. You depart when you want, see what you want, stay where you want (guided by the advice and first-hand knowledge of our specialists during the design process). It used to be that tailor-made travel was a relatively expensive way to go on holiday, but this isn’t the case anymore: and we’ll make sure we stick to whatever budget you give us for the trip.
How We Work
Everything we do is designed specifically for you, and that design process starts with an initial conversation. We like to have that conversation to get to know you and understand the key things you want to get out of the holiday and we find the best way to do that is a friendly chat over the phone (or email if you prefer), where we take the time to really listen to what it is you want from your trip. We’ve travelled to our specialist destination many times, so we’ll also provide plenty of inspiration and ideas that we feel may best suit you. It’s because of our knowledge and experience that we are also able to offer honest advice about a destination, as we’ve most likely stayed in that certain hotel or gone on a particular quirky excursion ourselves; this will ensure you are able to make the right choices for your trip.
Next, your dedicated specialist will carefully design you an itinerary, with a price, and send that to you within 48hrs. This is very much a first draft and we can revise as necessary until we’ve got it exactly right for you. This is where we differ from our competitors as you’re not just going to get a standard itinerary, but something which is designed to your requirements with care. We take huge pride in our clients having the best possible holiday. Upon booking, you can rest easy, as your money is 100% protected either by our ATOL bonding or through our Travel Vault membership. Louise first travelled to Latin America almost 20 years ago, after escaping a ‘sensible’ but dull corporate job in London. She took off for a year travelling from South America to New Zealand, Australia and the Far East but the continent where she first landed became her new travel passion. Inspired by her Mexican godmother’s stories and her love of the colour, culture, history and music of this vibrant part of the world, she was smitten! Since returning from that trip, she has been working in travel ever since and has had the chance to visit some spectacular places in Latin America for research. Hard to pick favourites but the wild and rugged plains of Patagonia and the beautiful peaks of the Andes in Peru and Ecuador fuel her other love of mountains and hiking while the Galapagos, Antarctica and Ibera wetlands have been some of her top wildlife highlights in the world. She also has a nerdy fascination for the history of ancient civilisations from the Aztecs to Mayans and Incas.
Dawn’s passion for all things travel started over 25 years ago, some of the high points include living and working in Mexico for 5 years, swimming with whale sharks and spending time learning the Mayan calendar and the Huichol culture fuelled Dawn’s passion for Latin & Central America leading her into a career setting up small group trips aiding conservation in The enchanted Galapagos Islands. Dawn’s love of wildlife and adventure naturally took Dawn back to The Galapagos rich diversity and myriad of wildlife several times. Dawn’s Galapagos adventures included working with the Galapagos Conservation Trust, swimming with hammerhead sharks, hiking Isabella’s volcano and sailing around all of the magnificent islands. Key highlights include; island hopping, scuba diving and meeting the iconic giant tortoise; Lonesome George!
Megan dreamed of travelling far and wide since she was tiny, surprising her mother by enthusiastically planning a bicycle trip through Outer Mongolia aged just five! That trip never quite materialised, but after completing her studies at Exeter she went on to spend her early twenties exploring the wonders of Asia, Africa and Australasia. By the late noughties, she turned her attention to South America, and soon realised that there are just not enough superlatives to describe the beauty of this astounding continent! Megan has since returned to Ecuador on extensive research trips to scope out the best boutique hotels and guides to work with, with a particular focus on the remarkable Galapagos Islands.
Behind the scenes, Lou, Dawn and Megan are (ably?) assisted by the two company founders, Damien and Andrew. Both of them had an expat upbringing in the dim and distant past, so it’s almost inevitable they’ve ended up establishing a travel company. Damien is heavily involved in the marketing side of the business, whilst Andrew takes care of day-to-day things, like making the coffee.
